Bobble Washcloth

Bobble Washcloth
Designed by: Nanette Blanchard
Rating: Easy - Medium

Materials: Bernat Handicrafter worsted weight cotton yarn, size 8 needles.

Designer's Note: I slip the first stitch of every row purlwise and knit through the back loop of the last stitch of every row to make the garter stitch edging look nicer.

Directions: Cast on 42 stitches. Knit for 7 rows of garter stitch.
Bobble Pattern: Row 1: (Right Side) K5, Purl until last 5 sts, K5.
Row 2: K5, *(K1, P1, K1) in next stitch, P3tog*, repeat between *'s to last 5sts, K5.
Row 3: K5, P to last 5 sts, K5.
Row 4: K5, *P3tog, (K1, P1, K1) in next stitch, * repeat between *'s to last 5 sts, K5.

Repeat these 4 rows for pattern. Continue until piece measures 9 inches from beginning or until desired length. End with 7 rows of garter stitch. Bind off and weave in ends.

Note: I received this note from Nanette on Sept 26. If you do make the bobble washcloth, avoid at all costs ripping it out because it is REALLY hard to pick up the right amount of stitches on a bobble pattern. I found this out the hard way. *grn*
