Tweed Stitch (2 color) Dishcloth

This pattern is taken from The Harmony Guide to Knitting Stitches, page 43.
Materials: One ball of Main color (MC) and one ball of Contrasting Color (CC)Dishcloth cotton and your preferred needle size

Note: Before knitting, prepare a small ball or bobbin of MC yarn. (A ping-pong ball sized yarn ball should do just fine.)

Hint: When changing yarns during a row, pick the new yarn up from UNDER the old yarn. This prevents holes.

Difficulty: Medium

Pattern Stitch:
Row 1: (Right Side) Using Contrast Color, K1, *yf, sl1, yb, k1*; repeat between *'s to end.
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: Using Main Color, *yf, sl1, yb, k1*, repeat between *'s to end
Row 4: Purl


Repeat these 4 rows for pattern

Directions:
Cast on 36 stitches using Main Color. The pattern is a multiple of 2+1+border stitches(6).
Rows 1 - 6: Knit
Row 7: Set-up row (wrong side) K3, place marker (pm), purl 30, pm, K3.
Row 8: Begin pattern: K3 MC, attach CC and work Row 1 of pattern to last 3 stitches, attach bobbin of MC and K3.
Row 9: K3 MC, purl 30 CC, K3 MC.
Row 10: (right side) Keeping the 3-stitch border at each side in MC garter stitch, work row 3 of pattern in MC.
Row 11: Work pattern as established in MC.

Work pattern as established until center of cloth is desired letnth, ending with pattern row 1 (right side in CC). Cut CC.

Border: Using MC, K3, P30, K3. Then Knit 7 rows.
Bind off
