10 Point Hot Pad
Designed by: Ronda Eikenberry
Rating: Medium

Materials: Your choice of worsted weight yarn. (3 colors) The example given are from Red Heart Classic and are red, white and Mexicana.
Hook: Size G or 7

Directions:
With red, ch 10, sl st in first ch to form a ring

Rnd 1: 20 sc in ring (like a shade pull), [Work in back loops only from now to the end of the piece.]
Rnd 2: *Sc in next 2 sc, ch 21 * repeat from * to * around.

Rnd 3: Sc in next 2 sc, * sc in 10 chs, 3 sc in next sc, [this is the point], sc in the next 10 chs, sc in next 2 sc, * repeat from * to * around.

Rnd 4 & 5: Continue working sc in each sc with 3 sc in the middle sc of each point.

Rnd 6-9: Change to white & continue as before.

Rnd 10: Change to Mexicana & do 1 rnd as before. Break off & secure end.

Rnd 11: Fold points over (see pic), & working on wrong side of points, attach Mexicana in the 7th st on right side of any point. Sc in 7 sc, 3 sc in point, sc in next 7 sc around. [you will fold the points to the left. When you crochet this row you will crochet in the back loops, this will form like a ledge. You DO want that!] Remember that the lined side is your right side. Have this side facing you the last 2 rows.

Rnd 12: Sc in each sc, 3 sc in each point around. Break off & secure end

Key:
ea = each
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
ch = chain
rnd = round
